#4 - Tastes of America

The food in Spain is great.  We have encountered very little food we don't like, but there are times we just yearn for something familiar and comfy.  I am grateful that we have access to some of these tastes (although I really want an Outback Steak and Baked Potato right now - which is totally inaccessible).

This weekend Alex and I had lunch at Kentucky Fried Chicken (after waiting in line 30 minutes because it is a favorite of the Spaniards as well) and then last night we had Domino's (not quite the same and it has a place for you to sit and eat in the restaurant - but pretty darn close!).  This morning I went to our "American cabinet" (where we store all the wonderful gifts we have received from family and friends) and pulled out muffin mixes.  Tomorrow it is back to a Spanish diet, but for the weekend, we will be grateful for the tastes of home we have found.
